Formed in the early 1970s, you can't have a reasonable discussion regarding all-time great American bands without mentioning Aerosmith. They took influences from blues, rock, and pop, added in some originality and creativity, and became superstars for 40+ years. Here are our Top 10 Favorite Aerosmith songs:
10 - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing - Armageddon Soundtrack - Honestly, this song is only cracking the top 10 because it was a massive success for the band in the late 90s. Steven Tyler's daughter, Liv Tyler starred in the movie Armageddon which gave this song an extra-special touch. You can hear Steven Tyler singing this song to his daughter, who is also featured in the music video. The movie was a huge hit, the track was a huge hit.
9 - Same Old Song and Dance - Get Your Wings - Slide guitar solo and a saxophone solo? Definitely.
8 - Back In the Saddle - Rocks - YES! I will listen to any song with actual horse neighing sound effects in the background. (I also hear some horse click-clack running down the road or something). This makes up for Steven Tyler's shaky vocals.
7 - Water Song / Janie's Got A Gun - Pump - Classic 1980s Aerosmith. The guitar, bass, synth, and drums all scream 80s production. Not a big rockin' song, but the story and music still flow very well.
6 - Going Down / Love In An Elevator - Pump - Lots going on in this song, from the intro to the verse to the bridge to the chorus. The music is actually very well written with some great harmonies.
5 - Dream On - Aerosmith - Early Aerosmith; maybe even the song that started it all. You can hear Steven Tyler's voice break out into his well known style towards the end using his classic scream, "dream on."
4 - Walk This Way - Toys In The Attic - Maybe one of the most popular guitar riffs in classic rock. And who doesn't love some cow bell?
3 - Rag Doll - Permanent Vacation - Such a great chord progression. The melody and backing chord progression flows so well.... and you can never have too much of Joe Perry's slide guitar.
2 - Sweet Emotion - Toys In The Attic - Quite possibly the greatest song into of all time. The smooth bass into tells you, "get ready". So many cool sounds and effects going on in that into; that first :36 seconds are the best part of that entire song.
1 - Last Child - Rocks - Prime mid-1970s Aerosmith, this song is so funky; the cowbell makes you want to nod your head. It was a close one, but this is my favorite Aerosmith song. The groove gets me every time.

Jaded - Just Push Play
